Are you a senior manager or expatriated manager of a foreign bank in the United States? Do you often feel you face unique and difficult challenges here? You need to run your branch as profitably as possible within the U.S. regulatory/compliance environment yet you must also follow directives from your headquarters.  Sometimes those directives may not be in complete alignment with the conditions you face in the U.S. market.

IIB and Berkeley Research Group, a consulting firm member of the IIB's Professional Liaison Committee,  have jointly organized a unique full-day  program that will  address a variety of strategic topics to help you better manage your bank in the U.S.  The program has been designed to complement the annual U.S. regulatory/compliance orientation that the IIB will be co-hosting with the Conference of State Bank Supervisors on November 4th (click here for details).

Leading private-sector experts, including senior executives from IIB member institutions, will discuss  the following topics:

*    Leadership Two Ways - How to be an effective bridge between the U.S. branch(es) and your global headquarters.

*    Dealing with Risks is Now Everyone's REAL Job -What are some of the myriad of risks your organization faces?  Speakers  will discuss how to develop a strong risk management culture and how to fit  local risk management into the overall risk management processes of your head office.  Litigation risk will also be covered.

*    Strategic Issues - How to manage strategic issues while maintaining the highest corporate governance level; how to  structure your organization to balance services, revenues, profitability, risk, legal exposure, regulatory compliance, etc.; how to optimize  limited resources to achieve your desired strategic targets.

*    Other Challenges in the United States are Different and They Matter - How do you develop a sound relationship strategy locally and instill that into every employee's mindset?  What are some of the best practices for recruiting, retaining and developing local talent?  And how do you handle financial media, and communicate internally and externally in the event of a crisis?

In addition to the various panels, the program will feature a  keynote luncheon speaker.

Following the program, there will be a cocktail  reception for attendees, which will provide an opportunity to meet  with the speakers  and network with your industry peers.

The fee to attend the program is $695 ($595 if you are also attending the IIB/CSBS regulatory/compliance orientation program on November 4th - use the promotion code IIBBRG115 when registering for the November 5th event to get the discounted price).
