** Due to elevated precautions surrounding the potential spread of coronavirus as well as the associated travel restrictions faced by many attendees, the Annual Washington Conference has been rescheduled for July 26-28, 2020.  We will update you with more details as they become available.  If you have any questions please reach out to

The Honorable Lael Brainard, member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, will be the keynote speaker on Monday morning, March 9.

This is the IIB's most important event of the year, bringing together top government officials to address key policy issues of importance to the international banking community.  The conference also provides an excellent opportunity for representatives of our member institutions from the U.S. and head offices as well as representatives of banking associations from around the world to meet informally and exchange views on key business and financial services developments.
The 2020 conference will feature a special segment with political analyst Charlie Cook on the outlook for the Presidential/Congressional elections.  Other confirmed speakers to date include: Comptroller of the Currency Joseph Otting; NY Superintendent of Financial Services Linda Lacewell; Jean-Yves Fillion, CEO, BNP Paribas USA; and Douglas Holtz-Eakin, President, American Action Forum (and former Director of the Congressional Budget Office); FDIC Chairman Jelena McWilliams; CFTC Commissioner Heath Tarbert; SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce; and the European Commission’s Director of Financial Markets Ugo Bassi. We also expect to be joined by a senior Member of Congress. (Click on agenda button for full line-up.)
There will be a welcoming reception on Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., sponsored by Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. On Monday evening, there will be a reception and dinner from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the National Museum of American History, sponsored by Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PwC for all conference attendees, government officials and senior staff.
