This is the IIB's most important event of the year, bringing together senior U.S. and international government officials and industry leaders to address key policy and business issues of importance to the international banking community. The conference also provides an excellent opportunity for representatives of our member institutions from the U.S. and head offices as well as representatives of banking associations from around the world to meet informally and exchange views on key business and financial services developments.
Government officials speaking at the 2016 conference will include:
Hon. Nathan Sheets, Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs, who will give the opening keynote address
Hon. Lael Brainard, Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, who will give the keynote luncheon address
Hon. Thomas Curry, Comptroller of the Currency
Hon. Martin Gruenberg, Chairman, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
Hon. Timothy Massad, Chairman, Commodity Futures Trading Commission
Alex Brazier, Executive Director for Financial Stability Strategy and Risk, Bank of England.
The 2016 conference will also feature remarks by David McKay, President and CEO of Royal Bank of Canada, Juan Zarate, Chairman and Co-Founder of The Financial Integrity Network and former Deputy National Security Advisor in the George W. Bush Administration, and a special segment on the 2016 Presidential/Congressional elections with leading political analyst Charlie Cook, editor of the nonpartisan Cook Political Report.
There will be a welcoming reception on Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Four Seasons sponsored by Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. On Monday evening, there will be a reception and dinner sponsored by Deloitte, E&Y, KPMG and PwC for all conference attendees, government officials and senior staff at the Newseum, a "must-see" museum located between the Capitol and The White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. As is customary, the second day of the conference will include a panel of senior regulators, who will discuss key issues of importance to our member institutions. The conference ends at 11:45 a.m.
The conference registration fee is $1,150 for representatives of member institutions ($1,425 for non-members; $500 government rate). Discounts are available for multiple registrations.
