Job Description: Director of Membership Services
The Institute of International Bankers, a New York-based association that addresses U.S. legislative, regulatory, compliance and tax issues on behalf of internationally headquartered financial institutions engaged in banking, securities and insurance activities in the United States, is seeking a full-time Director of Membership Services to work in its midtown Manhattan office. The person in this position works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Communications in a small, fast-paced environment. Principal responsibilities include identifying and following through on opportunities to expand the Institute’s membership base, coordinating all aspects of member relations (including annual dues collection, membership requests, and reviewing and helping to maintain the Institute’s database and electronic membership directory); and promoting what the Institute is doing and how to position the organization. Other responsibilities include logistical/organizational arrangements for the Institute’s many conferences, seminars and membership luncheons throughout the year, including the Institute’s Annual Washington Conference in March and our annual “Breakfast Regulatory Dialogue” with government officials during the IMF/World Bank fall meetings, which feature senior U.S. and international policy makers and industry leaders. While this is not a lobbying position, the ideal candidate will have some familiarity with the Washington environment and government relations activities generally. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills, be highly organized and pro-active, and be able to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment. Good computer skills a must. Please send resume with cover letter and salary requirements to the Institute (jobs@iib.org). We offer an excellent benefits package.
