The Institute’s membership consists of banking/financial organizations headquartered outside the United States that operate in the United States through branches, agencies, representative offices, banking subsidiaries, securities firms, insurance companies and/or other types of financial institutions and also includes U.S. banks/financial organizations the majority of whose ownership is outside the United States.  In addition, the Institute’s Professional Liaison Committee is comprised of leading law, accounting and other professional firms that work closely with the international banking community in the United States.
