25th Annual Washington Conference
Sunday, March 02, 2014 - Tuesday, March 04, 2014
Confirmed government speakers include: Comptroller of the Currency Thomas Curry; FDIC Chairman Martin Gruenberg; CFTC Commissioner Mark Wetjen; New York State Superintendent of Financial Services Benjamin Lawsky; and Elke Koenig, President of Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority. Confirmed private-sector speakers include: Irene Dorner, President and CEO, HSBC USA; Karen Shaw Petrou, Managing Partner, Federal Financial Analytics; and political analyst Charlie Cook, who will discuss the outlook for the 2014 midterm elections. We have also invited senior officials from the Treasury Department, Federal Reserve and SEC to speak.
This is the IIB's most important event of the year, bringing together senior government officials and industry leaders to address key policy and business issues of importance to the international banking community. The conference also provides an excellent opportunity for representatives of our member institutions from the U.S. and head offices as well as representatives of banking associations from around the world to meet informally and exchange views on key business and financial services developments.
There will be a welcoming reception on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Four Seasons sponsored by Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Program sessions begin Monday morning and continue throughout the day. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Washington conference, there will be a reception and dinner for all conference attendees, government officials and senior staff at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery.
The second day of the conference will feature expert panels dealing with important tax and regulatory developments
